Creating is the boat that keeps my passion for art afloat.
I started my artistic journey in 2015 as an unknowing 11 year old, doodling random videogame characters I was fond of.
Little did I know, I had started the road to unlocking my inner artistic potential. Now, years and years later, I'm creating various pieces of art that ranges from cartoon illustration to realistic paintings.
Meet the Artist
Hi! My name is Makayla Hampton, I'm currently pursuing illustration as an undergraduate. From a very young age my life has been dedicated to art of any form. If I didn't have a pencil and paper in my hand then I found a crayon and a wall, or a marker and a tabletop. Later in life, I attended a residential high-school for my junior and senior year, graduating in 2023. I'm now majoring in Illustration at Otis College of Art and Design!
A Tribute to the Beatles
May 1st - May 13th 2022
This painting of one of the most influential bands in history was inspired by somebody I care for deeply. She was the person who introduced me into the wonderful world of the Beatles and sparked my immense love for both her and the music. I decided to show my gratitude for their work by painting a portrait of each member from the Let It Be photoshoot. From left to right I painted John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr each in their own lighting's to allow the viewer's eyes to be drawn to each portraits with ease. I strived to do these guys justice because their work is the biggest musical inspiration in my life, and I wanted to show that not only through my own playing, but art as well.
